Bubbenhall Parish Council

The Parish Council has seven unpaid members who are, in principle, elected every four years. In recent years there have not been seven nominations for election and volunteers have been co-opted to the Council. The Council is assisted by a paid Clerk.

The Council normally meets on Tuesday evenings at 7.30 pm in the Village Hall every six weeks.

​

The Council is responsible for looking after and maintaining the playing field, the play equipment, the village green and all other amenities in the village. The play equipment consumes a major part of the council's budget as there is continual maintenance to ensure it is clean and safe.

The council chases the district council and the county council about the provision of services in the village such as street signs, highway maintenance and mowing.

​

The council currently levies a "precept" of £18,000 for from council tax to pay for these activities. Concurrent services, previously paid, is no longer available. The council is always looking at ways to obtain further cash from grants and other sources. The accounts of the council are made up after the end of the financial year in March.
